Leonie Knipe

Dealer Principal, Avon Valley Toyota

Business, Leadership

Travels from Northam and Perth, WA

Leonie Knipe is originally from the small town of Toodyay, Western Australia and wears several “hats” in her daily life as a farmer’s wife, mother of four sons and Dealer Principal. Leonie is passionate about supporting women, the regions and building her community while breaking down barriers. This is achieved through being an active member of community and sporting groups and being the Vice President of the Northam Chamber of Commerce and Northam Women in Business.

Leonie is the Dealer Principal and business owner and operator of Avon Valley Toyota, Isuzu UTE, Nissan and Mitsubishi along with Merredin Toyota and Isuzu UTE. Leonie has over 45 staff members, some of which are not in your typical gender roles, including a male Administration Manager and female Sales Consultants. Having a diverse environment assists Leonie to think outside of the square ideas to grow and improve her business.

Leonie is currently the only female Dealer Principal for Toyota and Nissan in Western Australia and one of a handful nationwide, making her mark in a traditionally male dominated industry.

Leonie hopes her story and being the winner of the 2019 West Australian Telstra Business Woman of the Year award will inspire others to succeed in business, have the confidence to step into a non-traditional role and that your dreams and goals can be achieved in the regions.
